Mysteries of the Rosary is an immersive and contemplative program for individuals, small groups, schools, and parishes to rediscover the power of the rosary. This initiative, created by parent company Paradisus Dei, seeks to draw participants into a close relationship with Jesus Christ through a more profound understanding of the mysteries of the rosary.
The branding design process for this project involved a thoughtful and symbolic approach to capture the powerful, spiritual message of the initiative
The logo incorporates a Marian cross, with the "M" also working to stand for "Mysteries." By maintaining a corpus on the cross, the logo evokes the crucifix of a rosary, creating a fusion of the Miraculous Medal imagery and the crucifix.
Given the power and sacred nature of the rosary, I intentionally avoided quaint or cute branding that could undermine its significance. Instead, I aimed for a commanding and impactful logo—striking in its simplicity. The word "Mysteries" inspired the use of negative space to create the impression of shadows to create drama and intrigue.
Additionally, the typographic treatment carries this same significance. The wide, sharp serifs subtly evoke the nails used to crucify Christ. The process was guided by the desire to create a visually bold and spiritually significant logomark, capturing the sacredness of the series' message without losing its modern appeal.
