Camino

Branding

Camino is a Catholic parish and diocese data management system offered by Diocesan. We aimed to inspire Catholic offices to consider why it is important to track parishioner data. Meaning “the way” or “the journey,” the name Camino suggests each parish is on a journey and the data they collect is helping to tell that story.

From its naming to logo design to visual identity, the team I worked with was responsible for the whole of the branding of this product. The scallop shell is strongly associated with the famous Camino de Santiago in Spain. Pilgrims originally carried them as a way to scoop water for drinking; today, pilgrims can still be found carrying them. The shell also holds symbolism with the lines of the shell representing unique paths all converging to a single destination.
